M.J. Carrillo Co., Inc., a leading licensed U.S. customs brokerage firm with offices in Laredo for almost 6 decades, was founded by the late M.J. "Manuel Jesus" Carrillo on July 10, 1944. From its original downtown location a couple of blocks from the old international bridge, his 3-person firm handled its first shipment towards the end of World Wa... r II that consisted of a load of Mexican bubble gum destined for the U.S. troops in Europe. Three generations and 56 years later, the firm has blossomed into a 22-person organization and maintained its position at the forefront of the Laredo brokerage community. To this day, it is owned and managed by the Carrillo family, serving the importing public at its North Laredo office-warehouse complex in the Del Mar Industrial Park. Our computer-oriented organization was among the first in Laredo to be ABI (Automated Broker Interface) operational and we were among the first users of Line Release. We were among the first to handle maquiladora shipments at the incipience of the twin-plant program. Having been around as long as we have, we're tempted to say ".... been there, done that." Seriously, we continue to strive to remain at the forefront by acquiring the latest in electronic technology that'll enable us to give your customers better and faster service and up-to-the-minute shipment status information.
