Originally established... in 1874, by Margaret Platt, as a home caring for orphans and abandoned children in our community, the home later evolved into the Northern New York Center and grew over its first 125 years in response to the needs of our region. Since that time, our organization has merged into the agency we are today, Behavioral Health Services North, Inc. and we continue to grow and serve individuals in the North Country. Today, BHSN still reflects on its principles that were founded over 140 years ago. Still bringing treatment, rehabilitation and support to families in the North Country. BHSN has emerged as a leader in behavioral health services in the northernmost area of New York State. Located along the shores of Lake Champlain, BHSN has over 20 sites which comprise its 20+ programs. Our talented team takes every opportunity to give back to our surrounding communities through outreach, educational programs and clinic locations that provide care to those in need.
