Allies founder, Jessica Evans, was introduced to the reality of sex trafficking through survivors she met in Nepal in 2007. After returning home to Indiana, she was deeply moved and desired to take action. She prayed that God would show her how she could make a difference in the lives of those who were victims of human trafficking. The following fa... ll, God gave her a vision to educate people and to raise awareness for human trafficking and the sex slave industry. She invited others to join her, and within a few months they organized a benefit concert, called Purchased. Over the next two years, the team pushed into their vision even more to see how awareness of these issues could be raised to a higher level. While attending a conference in 2010, Jessica felt led to establish a more permanent movement here in Indianapolis. By 2011, this movement became an official 501(c)(3) non-profit organization called Purchased. Over the past 10+ years, the team has not only reached thousands of Hoosiers with awareness education on human trafficking, but reached hundreds of at-risk girls with prevention education, paired young, female survivors of trafficking and exploitation with a mentor, created a support program for parents and guardians, and began a job training program for mentees. Next, the impact will be multiplied as services expand across the state. In 2021, the organization celebrated 10 years as a non-profit and changed its name to Allies to better reflect the mission of the organization.
