Please join me in congratulating Dr. Veronica Perkins, Charlotte Wallace and Kim Forrest on their new interim principal positions, which officially begin tomorrow, within PCSSD.
Dr. Veronica Perkins Dr. Veronica Perkins, interim principal of Sylvan Hills High School Dr. Veronica Perkins, who takes the reins tomorrow as interim principal of Sylvan Hills High School, began her career in education as a junior high Language Arts teacher in 1994 at Jack Robey Jr. High School in Pine Bluff, Ark. She maintained that position for six years before moving into the administrative ranks with Pulaski County Special School District as an assistant principal at Oak Grove Jr./Sr. High School in 2000, where she spent five years learning the intricacies of building-level administration and operations. Hoping to broaden her view of the educational process, Dr. Perkins moved into the role of the District Language Arts coordinator for PCSSD. She remained in that position until she returned to building-level administration as a principal in 2007. Most recently she was the principal at Jacksonville Middle School. Dr. Perkins is currently in the second year of the Master Principal Institute of the Arkansas Leadership Academy. She serves on PCSSD's Closing the Achievement Gap committee as well as the Exhibit Coordinator for the Arkansas Association of Middle Level Educators and instructs as an adjunct professor at Cambridge College (satellite campus) in Memphis, Tenn. Dr. Perkins is proud to work for PCSSD, and is the parent of three daughters who attend Clinton Elementary School, Fuller Middle School and Mills University Studies High School.
