Terry Downs: Is a Professor of Art at Plymouth State University since 1971.He received his BA and MA from the University of Miami and his MFA from Florida State University.Since arriving at PSU he has taught printmaking, studio fundamentals and several team-taught Integrative Studies courses and was instrumental in founding the Plymouth Area Friends of the Arts.He has served as president of the New Hampshire Art Association and its acting director.He was awarded a National Endowment for the Humanities Fellowship to MIT and founded the Horizons Art Gallery in Campton, N.H.His drawing tours have taken him to Italy, Spain, France, Belgium, Holland, England, Ireland, Quebec, Nicaragua and Cuba.He exhibits frequently in the region and served as chair of the PSU Art Department from 1996-1999.

A New England Village in Prints and Poetry Displayed at Littleton Regional Hospital

Two artists, Edith Patridge and Terry Downs, one a poet and the other a printmaker, have combined their talents to produce a traveling exhibition of prints and poetry.Downs, the printmaker, creates copper plate etching prints from drawings made at familiar places or landmarks.Downs teaches printmaking and drawing at Plymouth State College.He has shown his prints in Maine and New Hampshire.This is his first collaboration with a writer on a creative project.Edit Mixson Patridge is a parent, poet, and teacher.Named New Hampshire Poet of the Year 2000 by the New England Association of Teachers of English, her poems have appeared in Literary Review, Shifts of Vision, The Heart of the Matter, the New England Association of Teachers of English Poet-of-the-Year Competition Book, and Northern New England Review.She is the author of a book of poetry entitled Echolocation, published in 2002.
