Stephen Stoll Director of Operations, Goat Group stephen@littlegoatchicago.com Born in Grand Rapids, MI, Stephen Stoll's passion for the restaurant industry began in high school after working in restaurants as a teenager. Upon graduating from West Virginia University in 2008, Stoll was immediately hired as a restaurant manager and spent the next five years learning the art of hospitality at several small restaurants in Morgantown, WV. In 2012, Stoll knew he wanted to leverage his front-of-house experiences to work for a chef-driven restaurant, and set his sights on the booming dining scene in Chicago. In August 2012, Stoll moved to Chicago and joined Boka Restaurant Group as a manager for hire to assist in opening of Little Goat Diner; Stephanie Izard's second restaurant concept. Shortly after opening, Stoll was promoted to general manager of Little Goat, and made his way up the ranks to become Director of Operations for Izard in 2015, overseeing Little Goat, Girl & the Goat and Duck Duck Goat. Outside of work, Stoll focuses on running Mission Muscle Foundation, a nonprofit he founded with his wife Katie after his five-year old son Connor was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. He's passionate about helping fund research efforts to cure the disease and outside of his own nonprofit, is active with the Muscular Dystrophy Association. In his free time, Stoll enjoys running, cooking, traveling, trying new restaurants in the city and spending time his wife, Connor and Keagan, his two-year old.
