Dr. Stanley E. Waintraub is a hematologist/oncologist and Co-chief of John Theurer Cancer Center's Division of Breast Oncology and Chief of The Division of Hematology at Hackensack University Medical Center. Dr. Waintraub brings over 30 years of experience dedicated to the field of women's health. Dr. Waintraub completed his clinical and research fellowships at Montefiore Medical Center in hematology, as well as Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in medical oncology prior to joining John Theurer Cancer Center. Dr. Waintraub is a Fellow at the American College of Physicians, as well as a member of the American Medical Association, the American Society of Hematology, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, and the Bergen County Medical Society. He was also named Healthcare Professional of the Year by the ARC in 2004. He has been named Castle Connolly Best Doctor every year since 2001. Dr. Waintraub's research interests include novel therapies in breast cancer, particularly the role of new biological agents in combination with standard regimens. He also champions the concept of precise medicine in breast cancer, aiming at customizing therapies, eliminating chemotherapy when possible, and using next generation sequencing, as well as other molecular strategies to refine treatment recommendations. Dr. Waintraub is the founder of the Breast Symposium at Hackensack University Medical Center/John Theurer Cancer Center, which attracts hundreds of participants annually.
