Stan also announced that the Aero Club of S.A. had managed to get ATNS to recognise that the lower limit of exemption for charges levied to general aviation would now be raised to 1 200 kg and that sport aircraft, such as Harvards, that exceeded this weight would also become exempt from ATNS charges. Stan also announced that three new sections of the Aero Club had been admitted during the past year: The disabled Aviation Association, the South African Rocketry Association and Airshows South Africa.
