Siobhan Feehan
Siobhan Feehan Siobhan Feehan is an artist that lives and works in New Orleans, LA. She uses a wide range of contemporary visual language, from site specific installations to interactive games, collages and collaborative projects. She finds inspiration from combining geographical and geometrical imagery, historical figures or literary references in a way that creates an evocative scene or dialogue between two polarized subjects. This process of uniting two opposing features to create a common form is Feehan's overarching vision of humanity. Artist Bio Siobhan Feehan graduated from The Maryland Institute College of Art with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Sculpture. During her studies she worked on several international collaborative projects in India and Dubai to investigate her thesis: "Eastern and Western Contemporary Art Comparisons". During Chinati Foundations Open House weekend, Siobhan worked on a collaborative project with Archival Editions to create a singular site-specific event in Marfa, Texas entitled Arabseque. This project catapulted her career in New Orleans, LA where she has since become an active member of the New Orleans art community, volunteering with Mel Chin's "Fundred Project" and the artist community at "T-LOT". She has exhibited in galleries and exhibitions in New Orleans, New York, Philadelphia, Marfa and Baltimore and will be participating in the Nes Artist Residency in Skagastrond, Iceland in 2011.
