In 1997 Salliann Putman was elected an Associate member of the Royal Watercolour Society and a Fellow in 1999. Salliann was elected a member of the New English Art Club in 1999. Her contemporary paintings are now in many public and private art collections worldwide Salliann says of her contemporary paintings: ‘Subject matter is far less important to me than the abstract quality of the painting itself. Many of Salliann Putman paintings begin with a quick drawing. This is an immediate response to the subject which Salliann observes. She then develops the painting from memory with imagination playing an important part.
