Royce Walters
Royce Walters is a Federal Officer with Department of Homeland Security (DHS), U.S Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and currently serves as the Assistant Director detailed to the INTERPOL U.S. National Central Bureau, responsible for the day to day operation of the Terrorism and Border Security Directorate. He is a member of the White House National Security Council, Counterterrorism Security Group and serves on various Department of State and Department of Homeland Security committees tasked with addressing the threat posed by terrorist and foreign fighters. Prior to his assignment to INTERPOL Washington, Royce served as CBP's Executive Director for the International Operations where he developed international strategies; negotiated bilateral and multi-lateral instruments in direct support of U.S. Government's objectives in anti-terrorism, border security, customs, immigration, and the facilitation of legitimate trade and travel. From 2009-2011, Royce served as the Department of Homeland Security Attaché assigned to the US Embassy in Baghdad, Iraq. As Secretary Napolitano's representative and senior DHS official in-country, he oversaw and coordinated activities for all DHS components operating in Iraq. He is a native of San Antonio, Texas. After attending the University of Texas, he joined the US Navy and served in several locations around the world. Upon leaving active duty he joined the former U.S. Customs Service and worked along the U.S./Mexico border in San Diego, CA before being assigned to Headquarters in Washington, DC.
