Roxie ZusmerRoxanne Zusmer -- Guidance Counselor Students listen attentively on Friday mornings as Counselors Roxie Zusmer and Susan De Leon announce the names of the "Super Bobcats" from each classroom.Roxanne Zusmer, Ed.S., previously a classroom teacher, has worked as a school counselor since 1985, instilling innovative programs, character education, and life training skills, as well as parent education and community involvement.She has a Masters Degree in Mental Health Counseling and an Educational Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership.She has served as an adjunct professor at St. Thomas University in group therapy and has presented workshops and seminars both locally and nationally.Roxanne has served as president of the Dade Counseling Association, Florida School Counselor Association, and Florida Association for Specialists in Group Work, as well as Elementary Vice-President of the American School Counselor Association.She has been honored as Elementary Counselor of the Year at the local, state, and national levels.Roxanne is the author of the award winning book, Mr. Germain Goes To Antarctica, which promotes character education and environmental awareness.Her newest book, Top 10 Topics for School Counselors: Favorite Group Activities for Grades 3-8, was published in 2005.
