The Pascack Pi-oneers Team is a great example of high school students who are committed to meeting a goal. They are supported by an extraordinary group of teachers and mentors who help make it happen. In our rookie year, the Pi-oneers earned an entry to the FIRST World Championship in Atlanta, Georgia in April 2005. The Pi-oneers continue to build on their foundations, earning multiple awards and recognitions, which are listed below. Participation in FIRST is not only demanding, invigorating and fun, but financially challenging as well. Part of the FIRST mission is to forge ties within the community by having teams cover their operating budgets through corporate sponsorships. In order to have the funding to purchase the robot parts, compete in two regional tournaments, and (hopefully) go to the Championships, we need approximately $40,000-$50,000. Corporate sponsors donate $5,000 and more, however anything you can contribute will make a difference towards reaching our financial goal. RSee more
