Ron Eckert is a co-founder and Chief Strategy Officer of IR Technologies, an innovative and progressive small business enterprise committed to serving the technology needs of the Department of the Navy, United States Marine Corps.
He facilitates and maintains professional relationships with over 40 key enterprises while serving on three Executive Steering Groups for Top-10 Department of Defense vendors committed to delivering products and services over a wide-range of opportunities. He is recognized for sustaining complex logistics modernization efforts related to expeditionary operations. Serving 20 years as a commissioned officer and retiring as a Lt. Colonel in January 1983, he served in numerous capacities in the Operating Forces of the Marine Corps as well as staff assignments at Headquarters Marine Corps in Arlington, Virginia. As a combat veteran with two tours of duty in the Republic of Vietnam, he initiated improved Best Practices for combat distribution strategies in support of combat operations. Mr. Eckert is also recognized for his aggressive commitment to athletics, leadership, and recruiting related to his assignment as the Marine Corps Athletic Director and Football Coach for the Marine Corps Team at Quantico, Virginia. He is acknowledged nationally as the last coach for a highly successful national program and recently launched an initiative in collaboration with IR Tech and the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation to highlight the Marine Corps athletic culture for historical purposes. He is a Life Member of the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA). Mr. Eckert is published in numerous trade journals as well as the Marine Corps Gazette for his efforts in Transition Management and Strategic Communications. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Upsala College (East Orange, New Jersey) and has pursued advanced degree programs at East Carolina University and George Washington University. Mr. Eckert graduated with distinction from the US Army Senior Materiel Managers Course and also graduated from the Marine Corps Command and Staff College. As an industry leader, he established long standing relationships with key contributors as well as the Department of Transportation and various high-powered consulting firms to organize strategies, teaming arrangements, sub-contracting requirements for rapid transition to a modernized paradigm. He championed Marine Corps Modernization efforts with Pennsylvania State University (Smeal Business College) resulting in an advanced curriculum required for certification in Expeditionary Supply Chain Management and Logistics Chain Process Improvement. He organized a team of champions and strong advocates necessary to deliver a transitional logistics model for the future Marine Corps. Mr. Eckert is a native of Newport, Rhode Island and currently resides in Lake Ridge, Virginia. He aggressively supports numerous programs at the national and local levels committed to animal rights protection as well as fair treatment of Wild Horse rescue initiatives. Mr. Eckert maintains an active role on the national level for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the sustaining Coaches Ministry.
