Roger Alcock
Roger Alcock joined Riverside Consulting CIC as an Associate Member in 2015 to work on our TravelRight* sustainable travel programme. He is a qualified careers counsellor specialising in supporting young people seeking to gain their first jobs and adults seeking return to work following redundancy. Roger is also a qualified NVQ Assessor, a Business Counsellor and a Facilitator for the Pacific Institute personal development programme. He has been central to the setting up of a number of new employability support programmes both locally and within the West Midlands where he established a new Centre and inducted the local staff team. Roger has earlier worked as a Specialist Advisor for the national Connexions Direct call centre specialising in helping disadvantaged 13-19 year olds deal with a range of personal issues including: careers, drugs, homelessness, health and relationships. He is passionate about music and acted as a volunteer mentor with the Princes Trust helping young people start up their own local music businesses. He plays in a local band and in his younger days toured Europe as a member of the road crew to bands to include Black Sabbath, Curved Air and Ashton Gardner and Dyke. He is keen on Cricket and acts as a Durham Cricket League Umpire.
