Robert called roll and a quorum was established. Vendal asked Robert to go over financials for the new year beginning July 1st. Robert went over budget vs. actual and explained that in the future the Executive Committee will have to adjust the budget to reflect that we no longer will have the GLCI contract. Robert told board that he had made a signup sheet to pass around for everyone to fill out to work so he can secure rooms. The board discussed the cook-off for November 2nd and that Kingsland Ranch and Triple P will again be sponsors for the event. The board was asked to try and recruit teams to cook at the event. Robert asked for help to set the kitchen up the weekend before the fair. Robert told the board that Dr. Sheila Pitre and Bob had secured a John Deere 825i Gator to raffle off for the foundation this year. Dr. Pitre explained to the board that all of the John Deere dealers in the state had pitched in to donate the gator and we would advertise in the magazine and on our beef trailer in return for the donation. Raffle tickets will be passed out and they will be sold for $10.00 each. Robert gave an update on LCA Convention for 2014. He told the board that he had secured the Sheriff's Shooting Range again for the President's Reception and Kingsland Ranch would provide meal. Robert asked BOD about getting Geno Delafosse for the entertainment that night. Robert reported to the BOD that the Executive Committee had discussed the possibility of having a Marketing and Value Added program with LSU, Dr. Jim Casey and Smiley Burnett as presenters.
