Goldberg, MD, MS, is a Professor of Psychiatry & Human Behavioral at Brown University and Psychiatrist-in-Chief at Rhode Island Hospital and The Miriam Hospital. He is Board Certified in Psychiatry with sub-specialty certification in Geriatric Psychiatry and holds a Master's Degree in Health Care Management from the Harvard School of Public Health. He has extensive experience in developing psychiatry programs and is a frequent consultant on Medicare reimbursement issues. He is actively involved in psychiatry consultation in the long-term care setting and supervision of psychiatry fellows in the area. He has published over 100 peer-reviewed papers and 6 books, and is the Editor of a monthly national newsletter, the Geriatric Psychopharmacology Update. He is the author of a comprehensive psychiatry textbook, Practical Guide to the Care of the Psychiatric Patient, which is going into its third edition. His areas of interest include: psychiatry issues in geriatric patients, health care policy and practice management, interface of primary care and psychiatry, as well as dementia and depression in the elderly.
