Phil Colodetti
Phil Colodetti Audio Engineer & Educator Phil Colodetti was born in Queens, New York, and he became interested in music at an early age. Having a turntable as one of his preferred toys, he would spend hours hypnotized by spinning records and listening to music, and thanks to his music-inclined-mother, Philip grew up influenced by a plethora of musical styles ranging from Brazilian music to British Rock and American Rock. With seven years old he had piano lessons, with twelve he had acoustic guitar lessons, and with fourteen he was already playing bass in a local band. With his extensive track record, and his degrees in Music Business and Music, In 2006 he began to teach Pro Tools and Music Production at Miami Dade College. Philip also began to work with audio for film and video, and one of his most rewarding tasks was to record, edit, and mix the audio for the film "For Once in My Life", a true story of the lives of disabled workers at the Goodwill organization and their healing path through music. On the musical side, Phil highlights the Grammy and Latin Grammy nominated CD from PALO!, Miami's prime Afro Cuban Funk band, and Latin Grammy winning CD Mamblue from Dr. Ed Calle. Philip continues to maintain a busy schedule with mixing and mastering for music and film, live sound and education; his approach embraces the uttermost combination of modern Pro Tools techniques and vintage analog gear, and he believes that making an artist feel comfortable when capturing a performance is vital to create outstanding results.
