Baseball player Phil Haywood is the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Pitcher of the Week, while Sarah Venlet is the Women's Track Athlete of the Week. Haywood fired a one-hitter in a 1-0 victory over Trine (Ind.) last week. The sophomore from Grand Rapids struck out 11 and walked only one batter in coming within one out of throwing the first no-hitter of the season in MIAA play.
