Patricia Shifflett Patricia Shifflett Patricia Shifflett Vice President, U.S. Health Patricia (Pat) Shifflett, RN, MS, is a nationally recognized authority on public health with more than 20 years of experience in maternal and child health, global health and infectious and chronic disease. The Atlanta-based Vice President in the U.S. Health Division's Public Health and Epidemiology Practice offers special insight into strategic planning and implementation of programs bearing national impact on population health outcomes. A skilled people and contract manager, Ms. Shifflett serves as project director for numerous CDC influenza research projects in the United States and internationally, with a focus on pregnant women, infants, healthcare workers and other vulnerable populations. She is also the corporate monitor for the CDC National Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence Survey aimed at providing national and state-level estimates of the prevalence and characteristics of intimate partner violence, sexual violence and stalking and for Medtronic Philanthropy's HealthRise Initiative, which is designing cardiovascular and diabetes interventions in Brazil, India, South Africa and the United States. In leadership roles at Cloudburst Consulting Group and SRA International/Constella Group, prior to joining Abt, Ms. Shifflett developed the five-year strategic plan for CDC's Center of Workplace Excellence for HIV Prevention; developed and implemented a technical assistance plan for the Steps to a Healthier U.S. program; and led assessments of the Field Epidemiology Training Program and Sustainable Management Development Program in eight countries (Kenya, China, India, Thailand, Brazil, Guatemala, Georgia and Kazakhstan) and development of a strategic framework for CDC's Coordinating Office of Global Health as it explored the consolidation of vertical programs into "one-country offices. The strategic framework included data collection in six countries (Kenya, South Africa, Guatemala, Egypt, Thailand and Vietnam). Ms. Shifflett holds a B.S. in Nursing from Westminster College and an M.S. in Organization and Management from Capella University School of Business.
