COACH: Our Staff: International Project Team: Parsa Sanjana COACH:Our Center Parsa Sanjana Parsa Sanjana PARSA SANJANA, MPH, Program Director Parsa Sanjana is a Program Director in FHI 360's Center on AIDS & Community Health (COACH). While in COACH, she has been responsible for overseeing and providing technical support to a portfolio of international HIV/AIDS programs, including Ghana, Nigeria, Botswana, Namibia, South Africa, and Zambia. In addition, Ms. Sanjana plays a key role in business development by responding to and managing HIV and AIDS funding opportunities, including leading proposal teams. Ms. Sanjana has over ten years of experience in HIV and AIDS program management and public health planning, programming, budgeting, and implementation. Ms. Sanjana has supported the management and implementation of a range of HIV/AIDS programs, including prevention, HIV counseling and testing, prevention of mother-to-child transmission, HIV clinical care, antiretroviral therapy, home-based care, and support to orphans and vulnerable children. At COACH, Ms. Sanjana played a key role in the design and coordination of two proposals in Nigeria and Zambia, and subsequently led the start-up these projects once awarded. While based in Zambia, Ms. Sanjana led the expansion of Family Health International's (FHI) care and treatment program to support HIV/AIDS services at over 200 public health facilities, working in collaboration with the Ministry of Health to strategically select health facilities, design and participate in health facility site assessments and develop practical operational plans to guide implementing services at all facilities. She provided management and technical support to FHI's program in Malawi for five years including seconding two HIV/AIDS technical advisors to the MOH, conducting program reviews and working with local CBOs and NGOs on home-based care and OVC interventions. Ms. Sanjana has experience in organizational capacity development, including conducting capacity assessments and providing technical support to local organizations in developing capacity development plans. Her extensive field experience includes Bangladesh, Botswana, Ethiopia, Ghana, Indonesia, Malawi, Mexico, Nigeria, South Africa, Swaziland, and a recent post in Lusaka, Zambia. Ms. Sanjana has a Master's in Public Health with a concentration in International Health and Infectious Diseases from the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University and a Bachelor's degree in Natural Resources from Cornell University. She is fluent in Bengali and conversant in Spanish.
