Frequently Asked Questions Regarding Nick Chanock
Nick Chanock joined Wassermans Team Sports Division in 2005 and serves as Senior Vice President of Baseball. He works with 35 Major League players including All-Stars Giancarlo Stanton, Nolan Arenado, Yu Darvish and Tyson Ross. Chanock also represents many of the top young prospects in the game including Javier Baez, Mickey Moniak, Domingo Santana... and J.P. Crawford. Chanock is a proponent of baseball analytics and their increased relevance in contract negotiation. Along with Executive Vice President Joel Wolfe, Chanock helped to negotiate Giancarlo Stanton's record $325 million contract in November 2014. Stanton's contract is the largest and longest in Major League Baseball history. Chanock also helped broker the Texas Rangers' $112 million investment in Japanese ace Yu Darvish. Chanock is heavily involved in the $200 million in arbitration contracts Wasserman has negotiated since 2010. At 28 years old, Chanock became one of the youngest agents to argue an arbitration case, delivering the rebuttal in Emilio Bonifacio's winning case against the Miami Marlins. In 2015, Chanock argued successfully on behalf of Vance Worley and Mark Trumbo, helping Wasserman become the first agency since 1999 to win two arbitration cases in the same year. Chanock is a graduate of Haverford College and Loyola Law School. He is a member of the California State Bar and resides in Los Angeles.
