On Monday, June 18th, the Village of Hanover Park accepted a bid from FirstEnergy Solutions Corp. to provide electricity supply for the Village's electric aggregation program. The Village secured a rate of 4.53 cents per kilowatt hour compared to ComEd's June 1, 2012 residential supply rate of 8.00 cents per kilowatt hour. FirstEnergy's rate represents a 44% savings for residential customers over ComEd's current rates for electricity supply. This rate, anticipated to take effect in late summer, is guaranteed for one year.
