Textile Rental Magazine - September 2002

Well, as VF Workwear's Nancy Himmel writes in An Industrial Revolution: Today's Workwear Trends Reflect Streetwear Sensibilities (pg. 35), most post-9/11 workwear consumers want their work clothing to have the same fit and comfort as their personal apparel.Despite the supposed trend away from casualization, industrial and service companies aren't likely to force their employees back into ties anytime soon, says Himmel. Moreover, in an era when many employees are asked to do more with less, the employers' incentive is to keep workers comfortable on the job.Put another way, these consumers are more interested in looks and comfort than in ease of processing at a commercial laundry. To meet these demands, textile rental companies would do well to work with their suppliers to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of the rental services and goods they provide.
