Mayor Arlene Juracek and the Village Board of Trustees have completed an evaluation of Village Manager Michael Cassady for his 2017 accomplishments and performance.
The Board praised Cassady for successful implementation of several critical priorities in the Village's Strategic Plan. Included in these priorities were: attracting a high quality developer and user for the Central and Main redevelopment project; the relocation of long-time Mount Prospect business Parenti & Raffaelli from their downtown location at Prospect and Maple to the Kensington Business Center; completion of a space needs study for the Police and Fire headquarters; and redevelopment of the Busse Triangle property located at the intersection of Main Street and Northwest Highway. Cassady was also praised for the successful annexation of 223 acres on the south side of Mount Prospect, which resulted in $67.2 million in new Equalized Assessed Value. This new value creation lowered the Village property tax rate, benefitting all existing residents and business owners. The Board has awarded Cassady with a five percent salary increase taking his base compensation to $214,987. A performance bonus of $20,000 was also awarded for operational and financial improvements that benefit the organization and community. Cassady has served as Village Manager since 2015. Prior to joining the Village, he had more than 20 years' experience in local government, including serving as Village Manager in Bensenville and Palatine.
