Faculty Associate of the Family Medicine Residency / Geriatric Fellowship Pharmacy Clinical Coordinator Melissa joined Sacred Heart's Geriatric and Family Medicine Residency Program in 2004 as the Pharmacy Clinical Coordinator after several years as a clinical pharmacist. Her interests include geriatrics, psychiatric care, and pain management. Dr. Shiner is board certified in geriatrics (CGP) and psychiatry (BCPP). She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Temple University School of Pharmacy in Philadelphia, and she completed her pharmacy practice residency at Penn State Hershey Medical Center. She has a M.S. in Health Administration, a B.S. in Pre-Medicine, and a B.S. in Microbiology, and she is a certified Medical Technologist (ASCP). Dr. Shiner is a certified Advanced Geriatrics Educator Skills (AGES) instructor and is certified in medication therapy management (MTM). She is a member of Pennsylvania Pharmacists Association (PPA), the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP), the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists (ASCP), and College of Psychiatric & Neurologic Pharmacists (CPNP).
