Mary Poulton serves as Chief Executive Officer for Desert Saber. She was a University Distinguished Professor in Geosciences, Mining Engineering, Law, and Public Health until her retirement from the University of Arizona in May, 2017. She was the first woman to lead an engineering department in the history of the University of Arizona, serving from 2000 to 2014. She founded and directed the interdisciplinary Lowell Institute for Mineral Resources (IMR), the largest interdisciplinary research center for mineral resources in the US, and now serves as co-chairman of the board of directors.
