Mark is a fourth generation contractor, following in the footsteps of his great grandfather who built and ran power plants, his grandfather who ran Kirkwood Electric, one of the largest electrical contractors and suppliers in California for many years and his father who was an electrician and a general contractor who built many fine homes and is well respected in Rogue River, OR. Marks family also built and operated a wood manufacturing business. Mark started working in the family business when he was 7 years old and continued to work for his father until he attended college. He credits his father with teaching him more practical knowledge than he could have learned from any books. After college, Mark worked for two different banks and a health insurance company, but hated being behind a desk. He did a stint with a two pest control companies before starting his own company. Kirkwood Home Services specialized in rodent control and flood damage eventually expanding into general contracting performing full renovations and restorations. Mark says From foundation to roof we did it all, until 2008 when the market crashed.
