Mark has nearly two decades of experience as a licensed patent attorney, working extensively in U.S. and foreign patent procurement, strategic patent portfolio development and management, and client counseling. His practice involves drafting and prosecuting patent applications, legal opinion work, analyses of competitor IP and products, product clearance, IP landscaping, IP audits, M&A due diligence, and associate patent attorney mentoring at the firm. Mark has over eight years of industry experience as an electrical engineer and research engineer. As a senior electrical engineer, Mark worked on design reliability of guidance and related avionics equipment for commercial airlines, and performed analysis of avionics equipment at system, card, and circuit levels. He coded and deployed a relational database system that tracked product field reliability with statistical and graphical outputs. As a research engineer, Mark worked on thin film photovoltaic materials, cells and panels, and performed experiments on packaging and performance of thin film and crystalline photovoltaic devices. He helped design and implement a reaction injection molding installation including an effluent treatment facility for encapsulating photovoltaic devices. Other Activities Mark is an active member in the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA), holding leadership positions in the Electronic and Computer Law Committee (ECLC) from 1995 through 2002, including Co-Chair of the ECLC Professional Programs Subcommittee from 1995 to 2000 and Chair of the ECLC Patents Subcommittee in 2001 and 2002.
