Margaret Procter, University of Toronto Coordinator, Writing Support
Margaret Procter is the University of Toronto Coordinator of Writing Support. She works with U of T's fourteen writing centres and two writing programs to help students deal with the challenges of academic and professional writing. In 2003 she was awarded the Joan E. Foley Award for enhancing the student experience at U of T. One main focus of her work is supporting faculty members in integrating writing into their courses, and she has recently initiated a project in Arts and Science to develop and evaluate ways of including writing instruction within departmental curricula. Her website "Writing at the University of Toronto" receives almost two million hits a year, about 10% of them to the files advising faculty on designing assignments and responding to student work.
