Larry Seivers Named President Of AAFL'S Tennessee Team
All American Football League - Press Release All American Football League Larry Seivers Named President Of AAFL'S Tennessee Team Larry Seivers, AAFL Tennessee's newly-appointed President, was available to the media during the team workouts. Seivers is a native of Clinton, Tennessee and a graduate of University of Tennessee at Knoxville with a BS in Education. During his tenure at UT he became a two-time All-American in '75 & '76 and a SEC Male Athlete of the Year in 1977. He was named to the Knoxville Sports Hall of Fame and the Anderson County Hall of Fame for Sports. Seivers has earned a reputation as a prominent businessman in the Knoxville community and brings a great deal of experience and professionalism to the AAFL. For 20 years, he owned and operated a vending and food service company, which he sold in 1998 to Five Star Food Service, which is now located in Chattanooga Tennessee, after which he spent eight years as Vice President/General Manager of the East Tennessee Division for Five Star Food Service. He currently still consults for Five Star Food Service, and in October 2005 joined a partnership with Riverside C&D Landfill, LLC to own and operate a Class IV Construction-Demolition facility in Knoxville. He currently resides in Louisville, TN with Sally, his wife of 23 years, and his children Jennifer, a student and volleyball player at Maryville College and Charlie, a student and football player at Tennessee Tech.

Larry Seivers, general manager of the East Tennessee division of Five Star Food Service Inc., is contacting his 200 customers and must physically change more than 30,000 prices on his machines. Seivers' territory covers East Tennessee to the Virginia state line. He complained that he didn't receive his formal notice from the state regarding the tax changes until Friday. "Most people do not understand the time, energy and effort it will take to implement this huge tax increase," Seivers said. State notices to taxpayers didn't go out until Thursday.The tax plan, including sales taxes, business taxes and tobacco and alcohol taxes, was approved July 3 by the Legislature and signed into law by the governor on July 4. Seivers said his employees will be working overtime this weekend to try to get ready for Monday. He has asked the Department of Revenue to waive Monday's effective date for vending machines for 30 days, but the state denied the request.
