Larry McLendon (piano accompanist), also a native of Washington D.C., began his study of piano at the age of seven under the guidance of June Treyhern.Larry has distinguished himself with a number of accomplishments, including his two-time first place winnings at the Southeastern Piano Festival and Competition and as an undergraduate in the Richard R. Deas Student Concerto Competition.He continues to perform with the WSO and at public events in Wilmington.Larry has been teaching piano since 1986, and piano and music theory classes as a faculty member of the Greensboro Community Arts School and Coastal Carolina Community College.He is a member of the Music Teachers' National Association and the National Guild of Piano Teachers, and is currently on the faculty of Southeastern Community College.
