"All members of my team are responsible for driving local tactics, including customer seminars and trade ," explains Kevin O'Donnell, Regional & Channel Marketing Manager for JDSU Network and Service Enablement.
"People use collateral for talking points and expect to have print materials at all the events, which meant planning and shipping marketing materials well in advance to ensure they cleared customs," states O'Donnell. But, with the large number and frequency of events O'Donnell's group supports, it was not always possible to plan far enough ahead. "We could be supporting seminars in Istanbul and China one week; the, supporting events in the US, Brazil, and the Middle East, the next," explains O'Donnell. "Just getting things into a country is really difficult, so we often had to order collateral three to four weeks in advance of an event just to be on the safe side." For smaller meetings, local offices would occasionally print their own materials, which did not comply with brand standards. "We discourage local offices from using their office printer or copy centers, such as Kinkos, because they will not get the quality we need," continues O'Donnell. "If we use materials that are out-of-date or do not have the right quality, it reflects poorly on JDSU and our brand." Solution JDSU's corporate marketing group began researching more efficient processes for delivering high-quality marketing materials around the world and found HubCast. "Today, we order all our collateral through the HubCast storefront because it allows us to react really quickly to meet the needs of our field representatives," states O'Donnell. "HubCast is the only global print supply chain that can deliver the quality we need." "The speed of HubCast printing is a major benefit," explains O'Donnell. That's a big benefit," says O'Donnell. "We do away with customs issues. HubCast prints all JDSU collateral in country, it saves money, and it is high quality. Maintain Brand and Quality Standards Across the Globe O'Donnell's team represents just one of thousands of JDSU employees and partners with access to collateral through JDSU's HubCast storefront. "These partners sell and support JDSU products and solutions and host seminars on our behalf," states O'Donnell. "They want to use co-branded marketing materials. Through our JDSU-branded HubCast storefront, channel partners select the collateral they want, add their information, specify quantity, delivery date and address, input their credit card information, and HubCast prints and delivers the co-branded collateral quickly and cost effectively." JDSU also creates and maintains translated documents in its online HubCast library, another important service for field offices and partners. "We perform the translation and HubCast hosts it for us, so if someone in China needs 50 copies of a piece of collateral they simply go on HubCast and order the Chinese version," explains O'Donnell. "Previously, documents were translated and printed locally and we had all the quality issues. With HubCast, O'Donnell has confidence field offices and partners will have approved, up-to-date and high-quality print materials, and it frees his staff from the time-consuming task of fielding requests for fulfillment and ordering collateral.
