Board of Directors Elects Kenneth St. John to Succeed David Klain as President
SAN FRANCISCO, May 4, 2012 - United Virtual Airlines (UVA) announced today that its Board of Directors has elected Kenneth St. John as its new President. St. John succeeds current President David Klain, who has held the position since November 2003. St. John has been the Senior Vice President, Human Resources and a member of the Board of Directors since September 2007. He joined UVA in 2004 as the Denver Domicile Manager (DENFO). He has extensive real world experience as a commercial pilot and as Chief Pilot of several Part 135 charter operations. He also holds a flight instructor certificate and has given more than 3,000 hours of single- and multi-engine instruction. In his role overseeing Human Resources, St. John worked with the other Board members to keep UVA policies and procedures aligned with real world operations to promote UVA as the model for a realistic virtual airline experience. "As I begin my own tenure as President, it is entirely appropriate to recognize David Klain's immense contribution to UVA," St. John said. St. John also expressed his appreciation for and recognition of the contributions of United Virtual's Board of Directors and front line staff. "These are the core operations that make UVA run smoothly everyday and the people who serve in these positions deserve everyone's appreciation," he said. On St. John's election, Klain said "I could not think of a better replacement for me than Ken St. John. In closing, St. John said "I appreciate the opportunity to support [our members] and our VA and look forward to its continued success."
