"In conjunction with our current bicentennial exhibition 200 Years of Indiana Art: A Cultural Celebration, we are partnering with graffiti installation artist Ish Muhammad and the Crazy Indiana Style Artists (CISA) of Lake County to celebrate the contributions made by modern and contemporary artists throughout Indiana history," said Katy Creagh, school program developer for the museum.
Both indoor and outdoor activities will include music by DJs from both area codes, spoken word artists, Indiana micro-brewery tastings and artmaking led by Indianapolis nonprofit Big Car. A special art exhibit featuring more than 30 years of work by CISA will be on view in Legacy Theater on Level 1 of the museum. "We are excited to have CISA join us. They are Indiana's oldest Latino artist cooperative and is nationally recognized for more than 3 decades of creative work," added Creagh. The event is free and open to the public. For more details on the event, please call event spokesperson Katy Creagh at 317.234.5122, email her at KCreagh@indianamuseum.org or visit the museum website indianamuseum.org.
