Eugene "Gino" Morant has been married to Minister Karen Holmes Morant since 1996 and they have been members of PGC since 2007.
Karen serves as part of the ministry team and conducts a number of workshops for Habitat for Humanity forums. She also serves as facilitator life coach for a women's growth group CVGG. Gino and Karen are dedicated to serving the community, as well as spreading the gospel of Jesus The Christ to all they encounter.

Welcome To Pleasant Grove Church - Serving God Through Loving Connections Adult Life Ministries - Minister Karen Holmes Morant Minister Karen Holmes Morant Adult Life Ministry Director Karen Holmes Morant is a native of Baltimore, Maryland. She is the youngest of three children born to Joseph and Zelma Holmes, Sr. of Baltimore, Maryland. Karen received her early education in Baltimore City public schools. Karen earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science at Frostburg State University in Frostburg, Maryland. Karen earned a Master of Science in Organizational Change and Leadership from Pfeiffer University, at Charlotte, North Carolina. Karen's matriculation in the Organizational Development and Human Resources curriculum at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland, earned her two certificates for completing the Leadership Development and Fellows in Change Management programs. Currently, Karen is attending Campbell University Divinity School to earn a Master of Divinity Degree. Karen was baptized and began discipleship training at New Psalmist Baptist Church, Baltimore, Maryland in 1990. Karen formally answered her call to ministry in 2006 at Pleasant Grove Church, Cary, North Carolina, where she currently serves in ministry. She has served at New Psalmist Baptist Church, Baltimore, Maryland, Macedonia New Life Church, Raleigh, North Carolina and Pleasant Grove Church, Cary, North Carolina in the following ministries: Young Adult, Usher, Women's, Chosen Vessels, Grant Writing Team, Leadership Development, Worship, Christian Education, Evangelism, and Pastor Care. As a community leader and public servant, Karen has had a fulfilling career in human, leadership, organizational and community development. Karen served as director of the Juvenile Delinquency Prevention Program for the Baltimore City chapter of the Urban League, and director of a federally funded Substance Use Prevention grant in the Baltimore City Mayor's Office and Wake County Human Services. She is currently providing leadership in Wake County government as a Program Consultant for building individual and organizational capacity. She has served on several boards and committees including: Urban Leaguettes, a mentoring program for teenage girls; North Carolina African American Tobacco Use Prevention Action Team; Wake County Tobacco Prevention Coalition; and is a member of the national service organization, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She is a trainer and coach with demonstrated skills in counseling, community organizing, group facilitation, leadership and organizational development and systems change. Prior to relocating to North Carolina in April 1996, Karen's peers and Baltimore City community leaders voted her "Prevention Professional of the Year".
