Julia Biber, celloJulia Biber received her training from the Cleveland Institute of Music, where she received her Masters degree as a student of Richard Aaron and Merry Peckham, and the Mannes College of Music, where she earned her Bachelors in performance as a student of Barbara Stein-Mallow.An avid chamber musician, Julia attended the Kneisel Hall chamber music festival for four summers where she worked with members of the Juilliard, Borromeo, Cavani and Vermeer quartets as well as being a member of the Anne Stern Quartet, dedicated to classical music outreach in some of the rural communities in Maine.She received her Suzuki training at the School of Strings, the Colorado Suzuki Institute and at the Suzuki Institute in Lima, Peru, where she worked with renowned cello pedagogue, Tanya Carey while teaching lessons and group classes to local Peruvian children.In addition to teaching at Opus, Julia plays in various ensembles and orchestras around the city.

Julia began playing the cello at age eight in Boston. She is currently a Doctoral candidate in Performance at the CUNY Graduate Center.
