Joseph D. Waltz, PE
Project Engineer Mr. Waltz joined Wallace-Kuhl & Associates in 2013 and has since performed many geotechnical investigations including residential subdivisions, schools, detention basins, bridges, commercial and industrial developments, correctional facilities, foundation improvements, site-specific ground response studies, and field construction monitoring. Mr. Waltz also has experience as a contractor in the geotechnical construction field in both the public and private sectors. He has worked up and down the state of California on soil stabilization projects including cement deep soil mixing (CDSM) for a bridge replacement at the Port of Long Beach to alleviate consolidation concerns, a landfill stabilization in McKittrick, CA between two adjacent waste cells to prevent liquefaction, and a grade separation for the BART extension to the South Bay. He has been involved in maintaining and performing site quality control, monitoring and tracking change orders, and providing input for value engineering proposals. Mr. Waltz is licensed in the state of California as a Civil Engineer and is also a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers. He received his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and Master of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of California, Davis.
