ABOUT DR. SHEHADI
Dr. Joseph Shehadi was born and raised in a large Christian family in Buffalo, New York. Both his parents are of Lebanese decent. He became the first physician in his family. He wanted to become a physician for all the right reasons; to alleviate suffering, to challenge himself intellectually, and to enter a career filled with discovery. Currently, Dr. Shehadi serves as Vice Chief, Section of Neurosurgery at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. He is a clinical professor of Neurosurgery at Ohio University, he teaches neurosurgical residents at Grant, and he teaches physician assistants at Ohio Dominican University . He has published several papers, his most recent publication discussing the availability of products used for spinal fusions. In his leisure time, Dr. Shehadi enjoys spending time with his wife and three sons. He has a deep appreciation of art, literature, music, and travel. After graduating with distinction, he did some training at Washington University in St. Louis (ranked #6 in US) and later the world-renowned McGill University- Montreal Neurological Institute for his neurosurgical residency. Dr. Shehadi completed additional fellowship training at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Texas. For twenty five years, MD Anderson has been ranked as the nation's top one or two cancer centers in US News and World Report annual rankings.
