Mr. Carlisle, however, has also represented clients in a variety of other matters ranging from defamation suits to medical malpractice and other health care related cases. His breadth of experience reflects his commitment to his clients. From discovery through trial and appeal, Mr. Carlisle is skilled at all phases of the litigation process in a wide array of cases. His practice has involved cases ranging from anti-trust and RICO litigation to contract and fraud disputes to personal injury matters to medical malpractice and just about everything in between. As a result of the diversity of his practice, Mr. Carlisle has represented his clients in most every type of forum imaginable - small claims courts; state district, circuit, and appellate courts; federal district courts and circuit courts of appeal; administrative panels for environmental agencies, certificate of need review boards and tax tribunals; mediations and arbitrations before the American Arbitration Association, JAMS, FINRA and privately selected arbitrators; and the Federal Trade Commission. Mr. Carlisle has represented clients before various administrative bodies and understands the nuances of the practice of administrative law. In particular, Mr. Carlisle has appeared before environmental agencies, certificate of need boards, tax tribunals and nursing boards. He has successfully assisted his clients in obtaining necessary permits and operating certificates, as well as in challenging the actions of agencies and other applicants. Mr. Carlisle has also assisted clients in challenging the passage of legislation and administrative rules and regulations that would be detrimental to their business and industries. Establishing the breadth of his practice, Mr. Carlisle has defended several private and municipal securities cases. In one case, he was an integral part of a team that secured summary judgment in a securities fraud case related to a leveraged buy-out of a regional grocery store chain. In other cases, he successfully represented large national banks in securities fraud cases involving complex adjustable rate municipal bond swaps and swaptions. Mr. Carlisle has successfully litigated employment cases involving the enforcement of non-compete clauses and non-disclosure agreements. He recognizes that employers have the right to protect their proprietary information and trade secrets. He also recognizes that there are limits to those rights and works to strike the appropriate balance between the two. Additionally, Mr. Carlisle has experience with litigation involving alleged violations of physician recruitment agreements, as well as employment discrimination. Throughout Mr. Carlisle's career, he has acquired substantial experience in healthcare law ranging from successfully defending nursing homes in malpractice cases to representing acute care hospitals, long-term acute care hospitals and home health agencies in certificate of need applications and challenges. In addition, Mr. Carlisle has successfully defended against claims of Medicare fraud, Stark law violations and Qui-Tam actions. Mr. Carlisle's experience with various health care laws and regulations and the general framework within which health care entities operate has been of great benefit to his clients. Mr. Carlisle has represented local, regional, national and international businesses and associations. Through this experience he has learned that they all have the same ultimate goal: keep costs down and profits up.
