As for the costs involved, Vincentian president John Fedko estimates the school's technology plan will cost $150,000 to $250,000.
He tells the Post-Gazette that the school is currently seeking grants, both to finish installing a wireless network and to purchase devices. Vincentian Academy, a world-class, co-ed Catholic high school founded in 1932 in the North Hills of Pittsburgh, is pleased to announce the appointment of John Fedko as the new President. Fedko is a seasoned communicator and has been a prominent presence in the Pittsburgh media for decades. He is a well known leader with strong ties to the community and a passion for Catholic education and excellence. He brings excitement and energy to the many roles of the President including that of Chief Communicator. Since 1987, Fedko was the Sports director and anchor at Pittsburgh's Channel 11 but recently retired from his position because his schedule was such that he often found himself away from his family. He is a graduate of the University of Southern California. John is married with five children, and is actively involved with numerous Catholic charities. "As a father of five children who have benefited from the faith-filled environment associated with Catholic education, I believe that there is no greater goal than the growth and success of our Catholic High Schools," reflects Fedko. "At Vincentian Academy, I strongly believe that the faculty and staff have created a perfect environment of challenging academics that stress leadership and character. The opportunity to join this elite program is a dream come true." Dr. John Murray, Jr., Chair of the Board of Directors of Vincentian Academy introduced Fedko to members of the Vincentian Family this afternoon. "By his words and actions, John clearly demonstrates his commitment to and passion for Catholic secondary school education," says Dr. Murray. It is a great honor to become a part of the dedicated team that is leading Vincentian Academy into a new decade of growth and opportunity," shares Fedko. "I am truly humbled to be associated with this incredible institution that is producing the future leaders of our nation." "We welcome John to the Vincentian Academy family," says Sister Camille Panich, principal and Chief Academic Officer of Vincentian Academy. "We are proud of our Academy and grateful to those who make it such an outstanding environment - students, parents, faculty and staff. Our International Baccalaureate exam results continue to exceed national and international averages and our graduates maintain a 100 percent college acceptance rate. Vincentian Academy's mission to provide a world-class education for the mind, the heart, and the soul remains the same. John will help generate even greater awareness of our academy." Fedko, who has received numerous honors, joins a faculty and staff at Vincentian Academy which have impressive credentials.
