Joe LilesJoe Liles began writing songs at an early age and new songs continue to surface all the time.He is a graduate of Baylor University and holds a Masters degree in theory and composition from Southern (Louisville) Seminary. Joe is currently a 40-year Society member who joined the Society staff in 1975.In 1982 he became Director of Education and Services, and became Executive Director in 1988.In his retirement he continues to serve as part time music publications editor.Joe was a certified Arrangement judge and now is active as a Singing judge. He is a member of ASCAP and composes and arranges music for religious and popular groups as well as for barbershop quartets and choruses.He has taught and directed choral groups of all ages since 1950 and has been guest clinician at festivals and workshops for many junior- and senior-high school groups.He directed the San Antonio Chordsmen to 4th place medalist position in international chorus competition in 1971-1972.Joe is currently serving as the director of the AISQC (Association of International Seniors Quartet Champions) chorus and is a member of that group by virtue of having sung lead in "Harmony" the 2001 International Seniors Quartet Champion.Joe is a 34-year veteran of the Harmony College (now University) faculty, having taught everything from copyright law to "Tune It Or Die!."His songs have been sung by men, women, and children all over the world.
