Jared J HorgesheimerStandard Front PageObituariesClick to VisitClick to VisitJared J HorgesheimerFri , June 29 , 2001 00 : 00 : 00TUCSON , Arizona/KAYSVILLE , Utah -- Jared J Horgesheimer , 33 , our loving son , brother , grandson , uncle , cousin , nephew , and friend returned to his Heavenly Father and his earthly father on Sunday , June 24 , 2001.Jared was born on November 21 , 1967 , to Jerry Dean Horgesheimer and Necia Delone Jensen Horgesheimer in Flagstaff , Arizona.Jared loved learning and was continually involved in the pursuit of his education.In 1991 , he received his Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from the University of Utah.Shortly thereafter Jared moved to Tucson Arizona to further his education.He earned a Masters Degree in Educational Psychology from the University of Arizona in 1995.On May 12 of this year Jared was awarded his PhD in Educational Psychology from the University of Arizona , a goal he had diligently pursued over the past six years.After the passing of Jared's father in August of 2000 , Jared promised himself and his father that he would reach this goal.We are so pleased with his hard work and dedication in everything he did.Jared came to this earth with many gifts and talents.His greatest quality was his truly unconditional love and charity toward everyone with whom he came in contact.His family members were blessed to have such a caring son and brother.Jared was a kind and respectful son and he cared deeply for his parents and siblings.He loved spending time with his sweet nieces and nephew and they always looked forward to his visits.Children were naturally drawn to Jared because of his fun-loving nature.Jared spent several years caring for wayward youth.He taught them , mentored them and helped to carry their many burdens.Jared had tremendous compassion and sincere empathy for other's struggles.He could not pass up any opportunity to help someone in need.Jared was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and had received his Eagle Scout Award.One of Jared's favorite pastimes was watching basketball.During March he could always be found watching the NCAA playoffs.He loved basketball - especially the University of Arizona Wildcats and the Utah Jazz.He took every opportunity to discuss seed predictions with his brother and brothers-in-law.If Jared was around , so were his pets.From the time he was young , he had a keen interest in animals and entomology.As a boy , he was never to be found without insects , spiders , and snakes of all sorts roaming the house.His boa constrictors , iguana , and Doberman kept himself , his family and friends , and the neighborhood children constantly entertained.Jared's family expresses a special appreciation to three of his closest friends - Joaquin Bermudez , Camille Mabey , and Jeff Sanchez , as well as his close cousin , Matthew Thurston.These individuals were sources of great strength and comfort to him.Jared is survived by his mother Necia Horgesheimer of Kaysville , UT , brother and sisters Jason ( Kristi ) Horgesheimer of Woods Cross , UT , Julie ( Jared ) Barnes of Woods Cross , UT , Jennifer ( Renn ) Veater of Cedar City , UT , and Jessica Horgesheimer of Salt Lake City , UT , nieces and nephew : Kelli , Jayci , and Brock Horgesheimer and Clara Barnes.Jared is also survived by his grandfather John Horgesheimer of Bountiful , UT , aunts Dorothy ( Calvin ) Seeley of Ogden , UT , Bonnie ( Dennis ) Hickle of Nesbit , Mississippi and many loving cousins.Jared was preceded in death by his father , two grandmothers , and one grandfather.Graveside services and interment will be held on Saturday , June 30 , 2001 at 5 : 30 p.m. in the Elsinore , Utah Cemetery.Jared , we love you and will miss you.We will remember the lessons you have taught us and will be forever blessed for being a part of your life.In lieu of flowers , the family suggests contributions to the Jared Horgesheimer burial fund in care of Neal S.
