" ... Obviously something happened and there may be some mistakes on both the city and board's side, but right now the (emphasis) is on the future," Sadler said.
Sadler said that after the Oct. 4 fire, custodians were advised to keep the trash cans away from the school and on the curb for pickup. He said he didn't learn until last week from Darrow that the city's trash cans were combustible and a "problem in and of themselves." Sadler said he is investigating whether the trash cans were put on the curb or whether the custodians placed the cans near the building because there was no trash pickup on Monday, a holiday. "The problem is that these cans still have wheels and someone could push them against the building if they wanted to," said Sadler. put Mike.B in for Ivan he will get the job done right. tom m waterford ct No matter how you spin it Ivan Sadler is responsible for the DAMAGE, not for setting the fire. If the bins were moved some garbage and some $50 garbage bins would have been destroyed. Not a million dollars in damage. Wake up and stop enabling those that do not do their jobs. Ivan makes over one hundred thousand dollars a year from your tax dollars. Frankly Speaking Sadler is the operations Guru for the School System. Sadler met with the Fire Marshal and did not make sure the trash cans were removed as directed. But Facts are Clouet, Laurelle Texidor and Ivan Sadler should all be booted to the curb. Stop blaming Laurelle Texidor and Ivan Sadler. Ivan is always Johnny on the spot, perhaps a day late and a dollar short. But he always cashes that New London paycheck on time. Mr. Sadler the problem begins and ends with you, so don't try and pass off some of this incompetence on the city or it's employees. Good for you Mr Sadler for locking the barn door after the horse got loose. LL "Ivan Sadler, the school district's director of human resources and operations, said he met with Robert Myers, the city's interim director" WoW three fires and over 1 million dollars in damages later and now Sadler wants to do things. There was a meeting with the fire marshal and Sadler did nothing. This is kind of late. Sadler should be fired. ....... "Obviously something happened and there may be some mistakes on both the city and board's side, but right now the (emphasis) is on the future," Sadler said." Why did Mr. Sadler ignore the direction of the fire marshal. There may be mistakes on both parts. The City side of the government only failed in the failure to cut the school budget. The city should cut the operations position and a few hundred thousand out of the Board of Ed budget and a capable employee on the city side should closely oversee the physical plant operations of the Board of Education. The Board has proven they cannot handle the job any better than they educate the children. ......... ""The problem is that these cans still have wheels and someone could push them against the building if they wanted to," said Sadler." So Now Sadler postulates that the fire starter moved the cans back against the building. Be realistic here. Again a New London Public School official is shifting the blame to others. Enough is enough. Sadler should be the first to go.
