Dr. Hak J. Ko The president of the Seneca Nation of Indians and the medical director for Adult Behavioral Health Services at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center will be honored at The 2015 Premier, Memorial's annual dinner gala. A respected psychiatrist, Dr. Hak J. Ko has practiced medicine in Niagara since 1980. A graduate of the Seoul National University School of Medicine and a former medical officer in the South Korean Army, he plays a key role in Memorial's new Niagara Wellness Connection Center as well as the medical center's inpatient behavioral health units. Ko, M.D.Dr. Ko came to Horizon in 1989 from Buffalo General Hospital, where he was the medical director for the adult outpatient clinic of the Community Health Center. He also currently serves as the medical director for CAIN Psychiatric Inpatient Units and has served as psychiatric consultant for Erie County Forensic Service; CSS Corporation Six; Mid-Erie Mental Health Corporation and the Erie County Home and Infirmary. A native of Korea, Dr. Ko received his Doctor of Medicine degree from Seoul National University School of Medicine in Seoul, South Korea.He completed his psychiatry residency (serving as chief resident at Erie County Medical Center) through SUNY at Buffalo Department of Psychiatry in 1980.Dr. Ko is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and is a certified New York State Buprenorphine specialist.He is a member of the American Psychiatric Association, and serves as assistant clinical professor in SUNY at Buffalo's Department of Psychiatry.He is also an attending psychiatrist at Buffalo General Hospital and Erie County Medical Center.
