Glenn G. Wood, M.D.
Dr. Wood is the Medical Director of Carousel Pediatrics. He has practiced Pediatric and Adolescent care in Austin, Texas since 1984, where he has cared for countless indigent children and seen firsthand the practical problems families face in the 21st Century. After graduating from Southwestern Medical School in Dallas in 1979, Dr. Wood completed a residency in Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine at Children's Medical Center in Dallas in 1982. Dr. Wood also completed a Master in Philosophy degree from the University of Texas in 1986 and a Master of Public Health degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin in 1999. Dr. Wood has taught courses in medical ethics at the University of Texas in both the Humanities and the Philosophy Departments. He also holds a clinical faculty position for the University Texas Medical School in Galveston and the Graduate School of Nursing at the University of Texas. Board certified in Pediatrics, Dr. Wood previously served as the Chief of Pediatrics at South Austin Medical Center prior to founding Carousel Pediatrics. He is the author of Growing Up: A Child and Adolescent Health Guide (1997) and The AIDS Epidemic: Balancing Compassion and Justice (1990), as well as coauthor of several articles in peer-review journals. Dr. Wood has contributed to the Encyclopedia of Ethics , written articles published in more than 700 newspapers in 45 countries and given interviews for more than 300 radio stations worldwide.

He is the author of The AIDS Epidemic: Balancing Compassion and Justice (1990), a book to quell the hysteria around the disease in the late 1980's. He has been interviewed on about 100 radio stations and has produced Public Service Announcements concerning research on health, family, and social issues that have played on more than 300 radio stations in the United States. Dr. Wood has written many newspaper articles on empirical research that have been published in more than 700 newspapers domestically, and about 100 newspapers internationally. These published research summaries include medical, psychological, social, and spiritual research. Dr. Wood owns four pediatric offices in the Austin, TX area and has plans for active expansion. Due to his high quality, low cost model for pediatric healthcare, Dr. Wood has been asked to expand pediatric offices to 11 other states. His offices are innovative in that they focus on care for underprivileged children, using preventive care and evidence-based medicine in pediatric medical, dental, PT, OT, speech therapy, and behavioral health. ?He taught courses in medical ethics at the University of Texas in both the Humanities and the Philosophy Departments for 7 years. He also has held a clinical faculty position for the University of Texas Medical School in Galveston and the Graduate School of Nursing at the University of Texas in Austin. Dr. Wood graduated from Southwestern Medical School in Dallas in 1979 and completed a residency in Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine at Children's Medical Center in Dallas in 1982. He is board certified in Pediatrics and was the Chief of Pediatrics at South Austin Medical Center. Dr. Wood trained as an undergraduate at the University of Texas in Austin in Plan II, the nationally recognized liberal arts honors program. He has also completed a Master's in Philosophy degree from the University of Texas in 1986, a Master's of Public Health degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin in 1999, and a Masters of Medical Management from the University of Texas at Dallas School of Management.
