George Malek
George leads ComEd's Energy Efficiency activities. He is responsible for developing and implementing ComEd's portfolio of programs. He had overseen the implementation of all Residential and C&I energy efficiency programs since their inception in 2008. His portfolios of programs have consistently and significantly exceeded their savings goals within their spending cap. George also serves as a spokesperson for ComEd and acts as the Energy Doctor to promote energy efficiency for their customers. Prior to joining ComEd, Malek served at the University of Illinois at Chicago's Energy Resources Center. George received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology. He received his Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Chicago.

As the Energy Efficiency Portfolio Manager, George is responsible for implementing a wide range of prescriptive and specialty energy efficiency programs for the Residential and C&I Markets. He has lead the department's efforts in providing services in the areas of consumption analysis, facility evaluations, sustainable design, and commissioning. Recent achievements include Exelon's Platinum LEED-CI headquarters and ComEd's Showcase of Homes program. Mr. Malek joined ComEd in 1996 after a successful career with the Energy Resources Center at the University of Illinois at Chicago where he managed energy efficiency projects and training programs. Mr. Malek earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology and a Master of Science Degree in Engineering from the University of Illinois at Chicago. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Illinois and a LEED accredited professional.
