Ervin Vogel, 83(June 10) BARTLESVILLE, Okla. - Ervin E. "Joe" Vogel, 83, died Saturday, June 7, 2003, at Broken Arrow Health Care Center.He was born on July 1, 1919, at Alliance, Neb., to Beulah (Reeves) and Walter Vogel.He grew up in western Nebraska and completed high School at Alliance at the age of 16.He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during World War II.He married Peggy Smith on May 20, 1944, at Enid, Okla.He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Oklahoma A&M University in 1949, and worked with National Zinc Company from 1949 until his retirement in 1984.He was a member of the Lions Club for over 50 years, the Lion's Sight Program, had served on the school board at Cherryvale, Kan., and was deacon of the First Presbyterian Church there.
