Ellen Dabbs honored by Mississippi Forestry Association
Ellen Dabbs of Brandon was honored with the Mississippi Forestry Association President's Citation Award. The president's citation award is given each year by the MFA president to an individual who has served the association with excellence on a particular project. 2008 MFA President Harold Gordon said, "Ellen has been invaluable to me in many respects this year both in her work as first vice president and as a sounding board during my presidency." Dabbs will be the 2009 president for Mississippi Forestry Association and has a long history of community involvement. Dabbs has tree farms in two states and has served as the Rankin County Forestry Association president. She currently serves on the MFA board of directors and is active on many committee including governmental affairs and strategic planning. Dabbs has a B.S. in Accounting and an MBA from the University of Southern Mississippi. She currently manages two development companies, a construction company, manages the family tree farms and does a little CPA work on the side.
