Mr. Ewing was a delivery man for Andalusia Dairy of Salem for 25 years, he then worked for the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen Funeral Home for 30 years, retiring in 1989. He was a member of the Salem First Friends Church where he was a member of the Berean Sunday School class.He was a 1937 graduate of Salem High School.He was the former pastor of the Highland Christian Church while attending Cleveland Bible College.He was a 50-year member of UCT 590 of Salem.He was also a member of the Winona Ruritan Club and Salem Republican Club. He served on Salem City Council as a councilman -at-large and Third Ward Councilman.He served on the rural housing committee in East Liverpool.He was a board member of Teegarden Acres. He served in Okinawa, Ryukyu Island, and in the occupation of China with the US Marine Corps during WW II.He received both the Good Conduct Medal and the Purple Heart.
